Repair manual ordered. So, apparently, gas tanks for 55 Oldsmobiles, hard to come by. Hopefully it is only leaky hose action. Just in case, I am on the hunt...would rather not have it repaired. A 54 Buick tank fits, says guy on Olds forum. Darn you leaky gas.
I had to replace the fuel tank on Bondorella (did it as a G-Girl project!) but mine was super easy to get to, behind the seat in the cab. Granted, we wired it backwards when we put it together and so the tank read full instead of empty and I ran out of gas on a road trip but other than that, it all went just fine! Good luck to ya!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! I think it will be pretty easy. My fuel gauge isnt working now anyhow, so it's a good time to check that out too. I hope it isn't the tank. My dad mentioned that it could just be a fuel line too. Thanks for the well wishes and the inspiration from all of you fabulous ladies!
